expTabPilot Unveils Support for iOS 9.3 Education Features
Features include shared iPad and support for the iOS Classroom App

April 15, 2016 (Calhoun, GA) — Today, TabPilot released an update adding support for the new educational features in iOS 9.3 recently released by Apple.  Key new features include:

  • Screen Layouts: arrange icons on iPad home screens
  • Lost Mode: lock missing iPads and find their location on a map
  • App Blacklists: true app blacklisting to prevent specific apps from running
  • Shared iPad: adds multi-user support for iPad sharing
  • Classroom App: an iOS app for teachers to manage the class

Unlike previous releases of iOS, the features in this version require an MDM to configure them or make them function, so it’s important for schools to choose an MDM that supports these important new capabilities.

“TabPilot was fully compatible with iOS 9.3 the day it was released, and now we’re pleased to add support for these great new educational features, even prior to the full launch of Apple School Manager itself,” said Jarrett Volzer, founder and CEO of TabPilot.  “As a school-specific MDM, it’s important for us to support the latest features as soon as they are available to schools. With this release, we’ll be ready to help them prepare for the coming school year.”

All schools using TabPilot have access to these features as of today’s product release, although Shared iPad requires student IDs created in the new Apple School Manager, which is not currently available to all schools, but is expected soon.

TabPilot offers free trial accounts for schools to test all of the TabPilot features.  The company has been providing mobile device management for schools since 2012, and is a leader in the school MDM field.  Product information is available at www.tabpilot.com.
