July 5, 2016 (Calhoun, GA) — TabPilot recently announced the availability of free mobile device management for macOS computers in schools. Schools that choose TabPilot to manage their iPads can now add their macOS devices to TabPilot at no additional charge, up to the number of iOS licenses owned.
The company is calling the macOS features of TabPilot a “Lightweight MDM for Mac,” offering DEP enrollment (including configuring hidden administrator account setup), device inventory, and app distribution. The system already supports the beta of macOS Sierra, so full support will be available on Sierra launch day. Additional features, including new restrictions, will be added in the upcoming school year and included at no charge.
“We are finding that our schools with iPads are adding an increasing number of Mac devices to their inventory, and we wanted to offer a way for them to have basic management for them at no additional cost,” said Jarrett Volzer, founder and CEO of TabPilot.
